UK : PhD Studentship Nurturing an Evidence-Based Learning Environment which supports the Innovative Design of Healthcare Facilities

The Department of Civil and Building Engineering has a PhD studentship available to start 1 Jan 2010. The research will be entitled: Nurturing an Evidence-Based Learning Environment which supports the Innovative Design of Healthcare Facilities, or similar. Collaborators that include: Department of Health Estates & Facilities, Community Health Partnerships, Welsh Health Estates, MAAP Architects, Health Estates (DHSSPS), Willmott Dixon, BDP and Parallel.

This studentship offers an exciting opportunity to join HaCIRIC, one of the largest research and innovation centers investigating health and care infrastructure in the UK, with ambitions to be a world leader in evidence based healthcare design.

The studentships are for three years and cover fees and a tax-exempt stipend (£13,290 for the 2009/10 academic year with cost of living adjustments in years 2 and 3). Tuition fees will be paid at the UK/EU rate. Candidates from countries outside of the EU will be liable for the difference between 'home student fees' and international student fees. Applicant should have a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree (or equivalent) or a Masters degree in a relevant discipline. Applicants will have a building design or engineering qualification and experience. On the application form, please state under ' additional information' that the application relates to HaCIRIC studentships.
