UK : PhD studentship - Micro-metallic components for medical, biochemical and energy use

Supported by the EPSRC through Cranfield University’s Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (IMRC), a studentship of up to £13,940 p.a. plus fees* is available.

Cranfield University has an exciting research opportunity for a motivated graduate. This research will assess the feasibility of a novel method of producing micro-metallic components for use in the medical, biochemical and energy sectors. The successful applicant will join a research group concentrating on novel processing routes for new bio-medical devices, using state-of-the-art precession engineering and micro-manufacturing facilities.

Wholly postgraduate, Cranfield University is a leading European institution for technology and applied science, with a global reputation for its research. The successful candidate will be based at Cranfield’s main campus in Bedfordshire.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a first or second class UK honours degree, or equivalent in a numerate discipline or similar.

Funding

* Supported by an IMRC/EPSRC research grant, this studentship will cover tuition fees at the UK/EU rate. Non UK/EU students will have to pay the remainder of their tuition fees up front before commencing their studies. Applicants are also eligible for a bursary of up to £13,940 p.a. dependent upon qualifications and experience
