The Robert Gordon University (RGU) has PhD positions available as part of its involvement with the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) in the following areas:
- Cognitive engineering: imaging, graphics, visualisation, cognitive modelling and user interaction.
- Computational intelligence: evolutionary algorithms and probabilistic modelling.
- Knowledge based systems: case-based reasoning, constraint programming, knowledge discovery from text and decision support systems.
- Video communications: video compression and transport, multimedia networking.
Requirements
Candidates must have a first class honours degree or an MSc with distinction in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Funding
The PhD position is funded for 3 years and covers both tuition fees and living expenses.
