Function title: PhD Position Implementation and effectiveness of P-direkt HR Shared Service Cent
Project & Function
A PhD researcher will develop a theoretical framework and analyse three aspects of the implementation of P-direkt. Firstly, the project focuses on the implementation process at the level of individual end-users: new ways of HR working, new HRM information environment, new technological tools, new communication lines, differences in work processes across Ministries using P-direkt. Secondly, this research analyses HR services as providing assistance, expertise, and HRM-related tangible products to the employees. In order to manage expectations of the P-direkt services provision, and to assess the outcomes of HR shared services, it is important to explore the kind of and extent to which HR activities should be shared through P-direkt. Third, the research will identify competencies needed for working with P-direkt, and knowledge and skills end-users need to work with P-direkt.

Required education/skills:Doctorate
Qualifications
The ideal candidate shows a strong interest in conducting a multidisciplinary research. You have a background in Management Studies, Business Administration, Business and IT, or Public Administration. You are also proficient in spoken and written Dutch and English and have well developed social skills to co-operatively work in a research team.

Furthermore, scientific and applied research is conducted in widely varying environments. These include health care, higher education, commercial services and the banking sector. Our research is conducted (mainly) under the auspices of two university research institutes, the Institute for Governance Studies (IGS) and the Centre for Telematics and Information Technology (CTIT). There are about 350 people on staff and 2200 students.

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2500 - 3000
Salary: scale 10.Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 4 years
Maximum hours per week: 38

More specifically the focus is on the structure, development and management of organisations, especially in innovative organisations in technological environments. This results in a focus on the dynamic fit between the organisation and its environment and on a strategic use of human and technological resources. Starting points are, among others, modern contingency, stakeholder and supply chain management approaches and structuration perspectives.
