Ireland: University College Dublin PhD Programme Bioinformatics and Computational Biomedicine

The Bioinformatics and Computational Biomedicine Structured PhD Programme at University College Dublin is funded by the IRCSET (Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology).

The programme involves supervisors from University College Dublin (UCD), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

The project areas span systems biology, regulation of gene expression, genetic polymorphism, analysis of proteomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, glycomic data, and protein structural modeling with funding provided for approximately 10-12 PhD positions, for students with a strong interest in interdisciplinary training. Applications are invited from students with backgrounds in a numerate discipline, particularly with experience of modeling (e.g. statistics, mathematics, computer science, chemical engineering, and physics) and biological disciplines.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is the 15th of April, 2008.
