Modeling of texture change recrystallisation of low-carbon steel sheet
Texture control in steel sheet manufacturing has been particularly for ulta-low carbon grades ( e.g. IF-steels) for deep drawing applications. In spite of such a remarkable suuess in terms of product development there are still crucial knowledge gaps with respect to our understanding of the development of recrystallisation textures in low-carbon steels. As yet a satisfactory recrystallisation texture model which can provide reasonable predictions of texture related material properties (such as anisotropy of strength or formability) remains unavailable. It is aimed in the present project to develop a more accurate and physically based recrystallisation model by incorporating the recent progress that has been achieved in crystal plasticity models that are used for simulating the deformaion textures of rolled sheet. Such a model will allow providing a more reliable basis for product development of steel sheets with texure dependent properties.
Requirements
Required education/skills:University Graduate
The position is open to candidates who recently obtained a M.Sc. degree in Materials engineering, Applied Physics or Mechanical engineering. Candidates who are familar with quantitative texture analysis and who demonstrate basic acquaintance with the fundamentals of crystal plasticity theory are favoured.
