Ireland: University of Dublin, Trinity College Geography PhD Studentship

The School of Natural Sciences is pleased to offer a Graduate Studentship in the discipline of Geography. The studentship will provide the opportunity for one student to undertake fully-funded doctoral research. The student will receive a stipend of approx €16,000 in addition to EU fees. Some additional funds to support the research project will also be available. Applicants should have at least a good 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in Geography or a cognate discipline. Two PhD projects are being offered:

1. The Geography of Asian Manufacturing in Africa. Supervisor Dr. Padraig Carmody ( contact carmodyp@tcd.ie for further details)

or

2. Testing simulations of relative sea-level change: a marine geophysical perspective. Supervisor Dr Robin Edwards (contact edwardsr@tcd.ie for further details)

Interested candidates should submit a CV (including details of two referees) stating why they are a suitable candidate for one of the above projects. The deadline for submission of applications is May 31st with interviews held interview in early July. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a piece of written work which illustrates their research experience and to provide examination transcripts.
