Germany: PhD Position Jacobs University Bremen

PhD position on protein-protein docking in the Computational Biophysics
group (Head: Martin Zacharias) at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany

A PhD position (funded by DFG) is available in the computational
biophysics group at the Jacobs University Bremen, Germany, to start
immediately. The focus of the planned research is to study protein-protein
and protein-ligand association using computational docking methods.
It will include the development of strategies to effectively include
conformational flexibility during docking and to improve the scoring of
docked solutions. Focus will be in part on methods development and on
applications to systems of biological interest. New developments will
be integrated into the flexible protein docking program Attract that
performed very well in recent Capri protein-protein docking challenges.

The successful candidate should have a diploma or master degree in physics,
(bio-)chemistry, bioinformatics or computer science and a strong interest
in (bio)molecular simulations. Experience with the Linux operating system
and a programming language is also required.

The salary for the position is according to German BatIIa/2 level.
The campus and teaching language at the Jacobs University Bremen is
English.

Please send your CV and cover letter describing your research interests
and goals including the addresses of 2-3 references to:
