Additional Salary Information: This is a twelve-month position renewed annually with medical benefits similar to State classified positions. Remission of fees up to 10 credits a semester and six credits during the summer sessions is included. An annual salary based on the 20-25 hours a week worked.

Duties: A Graduate Assistantship within the Stamp Student Union Building Operations Department staff is an in-depth educational and professional position for a student working simultaneously toward a graduate degree. The position requires a fixed 20-25 hour per week schedule. Schedule includes night and weekend work. As an entry level position in a large facility, this assistantship is intended as training and learning experience for those pursuing a career in facility management or other related fields. This individual is responsible for the scheduling, hiring, training, evaluation and supervision of 15-20 student employees. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations. This individual is responsible for room set-ups and for Building Events.

Qualifications: Bachelor¿s degree required from an accredited four-year academic institution. Demonstrates an ability to work effectively with people and to follow oral and written instructions. Must have strong communication skills and be able to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees. Admission to UMCP Graduate School is required.
