UK: University of Reading PhD Studentship

Department of Food Biosciences

This is an industrially funded PhD studentship to study the effect of a prebiotic on NF-kB activity and related signalling mechanisms. The research will aim to identify mechanism involved in prebiotic action upon the human immune system. The work will use cell models, Western blotting, RT-qPCR and related analyses.
Applications are invited from highly motivated graduates who have a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree in Biochemistry, Biology or a related subject. Funding is for 3 years, subject to satisfactory academic progress, providing a tax-free stipend of £16,000 per annum.
