Three years PhD fellow positions are available within the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Medicine, Center for Industrial Production. The PhD stipends are allocated to individuals who hold a Masters degree.
Successful candidate will be enrolled as a PhD student at the Doctoral School of the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Medicine. The progress of the PhD student shall be assessed every six months. It is a prerequisite for continuation of salary payment that the previous progress is approved at the time of the evaluation.
The study will be in the Mechanical Engineering programme in the field of “Production and Service Systems Design” in one or more of the following areas:
- Methods for enabling and supporting innovation in new product introduction and production processes.
- Development of contingency theory of change in production and service systems.
- Development of templates for configuring global production and service systems.
- Methods for competence development in global production networks.
- Managing and developing globally distributed value chains (value streams).
