UK: Aston University PhD Studentship Enhancing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) System in the Supply Chain

Applications are invited for a three-year full-time research studentship leading to a PhD (subject to satisfactory progress) which is available immediately. This studentship is open to home and EU graduates and comprises payment of home tuition fees and maintenance grant (£12,600 per annum). Overseas candidates are eligible to apply but will be expected to pay the difference between home /EU and overseas tuition fees.

The successful candidate will conduct research in enhancing the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, as a means to efficiently and cost-effectively achieve maximum responsiveness and agility in the supply chain system to cope with dynamic changes. The focus of this research is to achieve beyond the benefits which are currently stated and proven.

The candidates should have at least a 2.1 first degree in subject areas such as supply chain management, logistics, or manufacturing/production engineering. Employment experience (or a placement year) in the subject areas above would also be an advantage. We are looking for outstanding, highly motivated individuals with good communication and writing skills to present the research work.

The research work will be carried out at the School of Engineering & Applied Science under the supervision of Dr. Ming Lim.
