France: PhD Studentships in Finance, EDHEC Business School

Six three years PhD studentships are being made available by the EDHEC Business School for students pursuing PhD in Finance. These will be in form of research assistantships or teaching assistantships.

Students on the Residential Track will work as research assistants at the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre, as research assistants to senior finance faculty, or as teaching assistants (TA) in the department of accounting, law, finance and economics. In return for their part-time duties with the school, students will receive a full tuition waiver plus competitive research assitant/ teaching assistant compensation (38,700 euros per annum).

The PhD in Finance programme is designed to be completed in three years; course requirements will be fulfilled after two years. PhD students work individually with faculty members on dissertation topics selected for their academic and business relevance and in accordance with each student’s research interests and professional goals.

The programme will be run in two studying mode: Residential track mode (full-time on-campus presence) and Executive Track mode(short residential periods plus distance learning).

Programme prerequisites are economics and econometrics. PhD in Finance candidates on the “residential track” who may be lacking in these fields will have the opportunity to take supplementary graduate courses at EDHEC Business School during the first year of their doctoral studies.

Interested candidates for the PhD in Finance programme are expected to have Master’s degree (or equivalent) in business management, economics, or science and engineering degrees.
